Almost 15,000 Jobs Created By Doritos Locos

The term "job creators" does get flung around, doesn't it? Typically, silver-spoon executives with fake tans claim to be them, but anything could be one - like a taco. Not joking on that one, as Taco Bell had to hire 15,000 additional people because of the Doritos Locos line of tacos.

Taco Bell getting the mon-ey

One of those "TED" Talks had Nick Hanauer on it. As a founding investor in Amazon, he said that customers are more responsible for job creation than companies are.

If people want a commodity, that demand gives rise to producing a chain of supply. Executives and venture capitalists, in essence, have their careers created by the de-mand.

You can see the footage on YouTube, though it was buried in the TED footage.

This was proved with the "Doritos Locos" taco trend. The food has been so popular at Taco Bell, according to the Daily Mail, that 15,000 new jobs are being produced at the company.

One taco for 15,000 jobs

The correlation between a taco and 15,000 careers being produced was not quite explained by Taco Bell, and most likely because it does not make sense. It seems silly that so many careers would come from one item on the menu.

Taco Bell came out with the new taco nationwide and sold over 375 million during 2012. That is a lot of fans of the taco, according to the Christian Science Monitor. Almost a quarter of all Taco Bell sales came from the one taco.

It costs under $2 to get the Dorito taco, which means you do not need a whole lot of personal cash to get the taco. It has 160 calories and 10 grams of fat in the Na-cho Cheese flavor. The Cool Ranch flavor, recently launched, has 140 calories and 7 grams of fat.

Same task as McRib

Just like the McRib, people are going absolutely insane over the Doritos tacos. It does not make any sense and is actually kind of gross whenever you think over it, but evidently people love it.

Maybe this wonderful modern age IS that dull.
