A Technique For Effective Email Marketing Copywriting

By Essie Osborn

Email marketing is one of the most useful tools for digital marketing campaigns simply because everyone has emails and everyone would check their emails from time to time as well. Now email marketing copywriting is not just about randomly putting messages and shooting them into the emails of people. There is actually a specific way to write emails for marketing purposes and a specific structure that one may follow so that their mail message will actually be effective.

Now when writing in emails, marketers would always have to observe four Ps of persuasion in order to persuade people to take a look at what these emails would say. These Ps are known as promise, picture, proof, and push. This is the basic structure that most people would be using when they are trying to promote emails.

To begin, one has to start with the subject line of the email message which would be the very first thing that the reader would see. This is where the promise would come in as it would be the one liner that would grab the attention of the reader. It is somewhat like a promotional line that would promise a certain benefit to the reader.

The next P would be known as the picture and this would be the part wherein the reader would already form a mental image in his head. Now this would usually appear in the body of the mail and would appear as a form of description so that the reader knows what it looks like. If it is a product, then a brief description of the product would be good.

The next part of the body would then have some facts about the product so that the readers will believe that the claims are true. It may come in many forms like testimonials, stories, or even simple factual evidence backed up by statistics. Do take note that all have to be true to make people believe.

The very last P would be none other than the push which is where the marketer would push the reader to actually do something. This message is known as the call to action and would engage the buyer to do something right away. This is usually used when the marketer would want to speed up the buying urgency of the consumer.

Now one last tip in email marketing would be to always put some pictures in the message. A message without pictures will bore the reader and will not make him want to continue reading it anymore. So put some very nice pictures in the message to try keep the attention of all the readers.

Now one thing to take note of is that even if one follows the structure given, it will not be effective to everyone. In other words, one cannot please everyone with what he does. So all he has to do is to get as many leads as possible and shoot as many emails as possible until a few actually respond.
